Opportunity to gain experience in a thriving and developing team: The EST was founded in 2010 and has been growing over the years. We now have more than 100 members from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds.

A Global Network: The EST is your chance to work closely with an international team of Ambassadors, writers, researchers, editors and creatives from both European and non-European countries, and to form connections based on your common interests.

Skills: Volunteering for the EST will shape and develop a variety of skills, from your ability to communicate in a team and organise around differing commitments, to strengthening your understanding of events’ management, the different publications and writing styles through our training workshops. CV and Recommendation Letter: The EST will look great to an employer, demonstrating a passionate interest in shaping policy and the world around it, and a sustained understanding of international and European affairs! We are more than happy to provide a recommendation letter for our contributors once they finish their terms with us.

Applications for Deputy Working Groups Coordinator for 2024-2025 OPEN 

The Deputy Working Groups Coordinator assists the Working Group Coordinator in all its tasks. As the Deputy Working Groups Coordinator, you will help with the overseeing of the working groups since you will be the contact point among all groups and the rest of the organisation. As such, your key responsibilities will be to offer support to the working group heads and relay information about opportunities and initiatives in the EST. You assist in the organisation of meetings twice a month with all working groups where they will update you about their work and where you will be able to give advice on the presentation and publication process of their research. The Deputy Working Groups Coordinator should also help to facilitate the development of member’s hard and soft skills, allowing them to achieve their fullest potential as young researchers. This position will take approximately 6-8 hours per week. 

Requirements

  • Excellent command of the English language 
  • Previous experience in research and publication processes is an asset
  • Be knowledgeable about a wide range of European affairs
  • Strong leadership and communication qualities
  • Organisational skills 
  • Strong communication skills
  • Possess a vision for the EST

Optional but an asset: provide examples of previous projects or experience in communications (website design samples, graphic samples or videos samples)

The Call for Applications will be open until 10th of August (23:59 CEST). Applications will be screened on a rolling basis, so you can be contacted for an interview between end of July and August 2024. If we find suitable candidates before the deadline, the EST reserves the right to close the call earlier. 

Expected start date is August 2024.
