After inter­view­ing the best can­did­ates, new board mem­bers will be selec­ted between July and August, and will then go through a brief trans­ition period. All pos­i­tions are open to under­gradu­ate and post­gradu­ate European stu­dents with a good com­mand of English.

Call for President 

Are you a firm believer that young people should spearhead the European project? Do you have previous experience managing international teams and projects? Do you consider yourself to be a team player and a problem-solver? And do you have the capacity to speak in public and interact with stakeholders at a European level? Then you should apply to be our next EST President!

As President of the European Student Think Tank you are the executive head of the organisation, working together with the EST Board to coordinate the backbone and projects of our organisation. You are our main representative and project-coordinator for events and projects working with the EU and other International Organisations. You are a creative, team-player who is able to engage with international organisations and have the capacity to problem-solve. You will draft a strategy for the EST’s institutional pillars and projects and will implement it together with the EST Board.

Requirements
  • Previous leadership experience and ability to work in a multicultural team
  • Organisational skills and analytical capacities
  • Strong diplomatic skills and understanding of how to work with the EU and other international organisations (previous internship or volunteer experience at EU, UN or NGOs is an asset)
  • Great proactivity and creativity in organising projects
  • Public speaking skills and fluency in English and at least one other EU language

Call for Secretary / Vice President 

Are you interested in working with an pan-European group of young adults sharing your same vision for the EU? Would you like to help set the framework for this group and beyond to get involved in the EU policy-making process?

As Secretary and Vice President you will be responsible for the internal communication and functioning of the Board, as well as externally for setting up partnerships and collaborating with other organisations (this will be most of your work). The latter requires a vision according to which you want to see the EST’s network expand and the consciousness to connect EST events or projects with partner organisations. On a day-to-day basis you will be the primary contact point for third parties or young Europeans interested in the EST, towards whom you represent the organisation. Internally you will also keep minutes and be responsible for part of the administration.

Call for International Officers

Are you looking for a true European experience? The EST is offering you the opportunity to join its team of International Officers and to work with a network of motivated and proactive Ambassadors from all over Europe!

As part of the International Office of the EST you manage a team of young Europeans within the International Office. You will choose the team of Ambassadors and coordinate their actions with the aim to raise awareness about European Affairs. The International Officers advise and support the Ambassadors with regards to their writing contributions to the EST online platform and the organisation of events.

We seek to build a team of 3-5 International Officers who will recruit the EST Ambassadors in July & August. They will manage and coordinate the network of Ambassadors for the duration of the academic year 2020-2021. The Head International Officer will participate in the EST’s Board Meetings.

Call for Director of Communications 

Are you interested in the European project and willing to get involved to help make the voice of young Europeans heard at every level? Do you firmly believe linking people together around a common project is essential? Then apply for the position of Director of Communication of the EST!

As the EST Director of Communication, you are the voice of our organization. You elaborate the communication strategy of the EST and implement it on the website and social media through adequate contents. Your mission is to broaden the EST audience so that the work of the organization becomes better known and increasingly recognized.

Call for Campaign and Social Media Manager

Are you interested in a wide range of social, policy and international issues? Do you have previous experience in managing projects? Are you passionate about social media marketing? Then apply to become the EST’s Campaign and Social Media Manager!

As the Campaign Manager you will oversee the yearly EST campaign. This includes assisting the Board and Ambassadors in organising events and writing common articles. As the Social Media Manager you will cooperate with the Director of Communications in promoting the EST’s events and publications. Besides, you are in charge of the EST’s social media presence.

  • Social media skills (FB, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn)

Call for Editors-in-Chief  

Are you passionate about Europe? Do you have a very high command of the English language and an eye for detail? Then you are in luck because the EST is currently looking for two new Editors-in-Chief!

As Editor-in-Chief of the EST you are responsible for organising the Editorial office as well as the permanent writers’ section. You will be proofreading articles, coordinate the communication between authors and editors, and overall ensure that all publications adhere to EST standards. The Editor-in-Chief is also in charge of publishing the peer-reviewed European Policy Review journal. Additionally, you are required to coordinate and cooperate with the other Editor-in-Chief so that there is optimal performance within the department.

Call for Treasurer

Do you want to gain experience in an international student-led organisation? Then you should apply for Treasurer of the European Student Think Tank.

As Treasurer you are responsible for sound finances for the EST. This includes handling the bank account and communicating with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce, assessing calls for funds from in and out of the organisation, arrange additional funding and co-organising events. Besides, you will actively participate in a board with members full of ideas to bring the EST to the next level.
