The EST’s Board is run by a team of ambitious and visionary students and young professionals of International Affairs.
President – Olivia Serra Calvo
Olivia is originally from Barcelona, Spain but now living in Brussels, Belgium.
Currently, she is working for the European Parliament in the Civil Society Outreach Unit in DG COMM.
Olivia holds a LLM in Law and Politics of International Security and a BA in International Relations. She has experience in think tanks, communications and project management. She has a special interest in European Affairs, human and children’s rights and international security.
She joined the EST 3 years ago and she has been reelected for second term as President. Her vision for this term is to increase the visibility of the organisation towards institutions and policy makers and ensure the delivery of high quality products and activities.

Vice-President – Annalisa Scaletta
Annalisa is originally from Italy but has lived in Russia, the UK, the Netherlands, and Belgium over the last decade.
Her passion for EU affairs has developed throughout her MA studies in Sociology at the University of Glasgow and European Policy at the University of Amsterdam. In particular, she has a sheer interest in migration, asylum, and border management policies and has been working in that field since the completion of her studies.
As one of the EST Vice Presidents for this term, Annalisa is committed to strengthening even further the cooperation with partner organisations and building a strong community feeling among the EST members. Annalisa is fluent in Italian, English, and Russian and has a working knowledge of Spanish, French, and German.

Vice-President – Chrystaleni Tryfonos
Chrystaleni is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Governance and Diplomacy at Sciences Po Paris specializing in Diplomacy and Media & Writing, having previously graduated as valedictorian from the department of English Language and Literature at the University of Cyprus.
Her professional experience spans roles within different organizations, including the European Patent Office in Germany and the European Union Intellectual Property Office in Spain, focusing on strategic communication, human resources and project management.
With a deep passion for languages and cultures, she is fluent in Greek, English, French and Spanish, with additional foundational knowledge of Turkish and German.

Director of Communications – Siobhán Golden
Siobhán Golden is originally from Ireland and currently based in Brussels, where she works in the European Parliament.
She holds an MA in International Relations and a BA in Psychology and Spanish. Siobhán’s diverse experience spans civil society advocacy, UN engagement, women’s leadership, and research on migration and homelessness.
Siobhán joined the EST’s Communications team to strengthen communication strategies, promote high-quality research, and combat misinformation. In this role, she contributes creative content ideas, enhances her project management skills, and collaborates with an international team to expand outreach and engagement.

Editor-in-Chief: Anne Noël
Anne is an International Studies graduate with a passion for all things research, culture and social justice. During her degree, she focused on gender studies, climate justice, and moral panics and gained experience as a student podcast host and academic consultant.
Since then she has gained experience within various non-profit contexts: from being a museum assistant, research assistant at Leiden University or project management assistant at a feminist library in Luxembourg.
She is excited to join the board as Editor-in-Chief and looks forward to a fruitful collaboration with other EST members to produce high quality outputs from the perspective of students and young professionals.
Anne speaks Luxembourgish, French, German, English and some Spanish and Dutch.

Head of the International Office – Laura González Alonso
Laura, originally from Spain, is currently based in Brussels, where she works as an international trade advisor at the Economic Office of the Spanish Embassy. She holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Salamanca, one in Law and the other in Translation and Interpreting, and has also completed a Master in Management at the Menéndez Pelayo International University in Madrid.
During her LLB, she developed a deep interest in EU affairs, policymaking, and International Public Law. Her academic focus culminated in a thesis on the applicability of NATO’s and the EU’s self-defence clauses in the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Fluent in Spanish, English, and French, Laura is entering her second year at the EST, having been re-elected as Head of the International Office for another year. She is a firm believer in the power of young people to positively influence EU policymaking and promote human rights, values she upholds through her work with the EST. Laura is enthusiastic about collaborating with individuals from diverse backgrounds, sharing experiences, and generating impactful ideas to shape a better future for Europe.

Working Groups Coordinator – Oliwia Borek
Oliwia is originally from Poland, grew up in Ireland, and is now based in Paris, France.
She currently works at the OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions & Cities, focusing on regional development and improving access to EU funding. Previously, she gained valuable experience at Center Forward, a bipartisan non-profit in Washington DC and at the Foundation in Support of Local Democracy in Warsaw. Oliwia recently graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a degree in Political Science & Economics.
This is Oliwia’s second year with the EST, having previously served as Ambassador to Ireland for the organisation. Interested in a wide range of EU policy topics, she is excited to use her research and policy expertise to support the work of the EST’s seven working groups.

Treasurer – Marten Wesebaum
Meet Marten, a graduate of the University of Aalen, where he earned his degree with a Bachelor’s Thesis on the phase-out of Web Tracking Cookies – a testament to his strong affinity for data collection. He has gained diverse international experiences, from teaching in Panama to studying in San Francisco. Moreover, he showcases his leadership capabilities in his role as a seminar leader, where he prepares prospective volunteers for their engagements abroad. Marten also actively contributes to program conceptualization and enhancement for these volunteers. Professionally, Marten’s passion for data and data analysis drives his role as a Performance Marketing Manager at a start-up. This company is dedicated to reshaping access to psychotherapy in Germany through innovative approaches, a project that resonates with his vision and values.

Head of the EU-MENA Observatory – Luca Saviolo
Luca Saviolo is the Head of the Observatory EU-MENA Relations and he is a young researcher at ISPI Africa Programme. Having majored in European External Relations, he holds a double MA in Policies and Governance in Europe at King’s College London and LUISS University and a BA with honours in Political Science at LUISS University. His research interests are closely related to EU external governance, climate and development in Africa and the MENA region.
The EST Logo was updated in December 2019 and designed by Mirjam Müller, a former EST Director of Communications 2018/2019.
