Opportunity to gain experience in a thriving and developing team: The EST was founded in 2010 and has been growing over the years. We now have more than 100 members from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds.

A Global Network: The EST is your chance to work closely with an international team of Ambassadors, writers, researchers, editors and creatives from both European and non-European countries, and to form connections based on your common interests.

Skills: Volunteering for the EST will shape and develop a variety of skills, from your ability to communicate in a team and organise around differing commitments, to strengthening your understanding of events’ management, the different publications and writing styles through our training workshops. 

CV and Recommendation Letter: The EST will look great to an employer, demonstrating a passionate interest in shaping policy and the world around it, and a sustained understanding of international and European affairs! We are more than happy to provide a recommendation letter for our contributors once they finish their terms with us.

Applications for Director of Communications 2024-2025 OPEN

Are you interested in working with a pan-European group of students and young professionals sharing your same vision for the EU? Would you like to help this group to get involved in the policy-making process putting your communication skills into practice? Then apply for the position of Director of Communication of the EST!

As the EST Director of Communication you are the voice of our organisation. You elaborate the communication strategy of the EST and implement it across different platforms. You will be leading the communications team with the mission to actively communicate the EST’s work and values. This position will allow you to put into practice your knowledge in communications and leadership skills. It is a great opportunity to test your capacities surrounded by a young and dynamic environment and to expand your network.  

Your tasks will include weekly planning of publications and ideas for the creation of content. Coordinating the communications team by assigning tasks and ensuring that the communications strategy is implemented. Also, attend Board Meetings and play your part in the decisions relevant for the organistion. This role will demand 10 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Excellent command of English
  • Strong organisational skills 
  • Creative and imaginative skills
  • Basic knowledge of the use of social media
  • Basic knowledge of Canva (or familiarity with another graphic editor and the motivation to become familiar with Canva)
  • Basic knowledge of WordPress and the motivation to learn more
  • Have a vision for the EST

Optional but an asset: provide examples of previous projects or experience in communications (website design samples, graphic samples or videos samples)

The Call for Applications will be open until 3rd of August (23:59 CEST). Applications will be screened on a rolling basis, so you can be contacted for an interview between the end of July and August 2024. If we find suitable candidates before the deadline, the EST reserves the right to close the call earlier. 

Expected start date is August 2024.
