Opportunity to gain experience in a thriving and developing team: The EST was founded in 2010 and has been growing over the years. We now have more than 150 members from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds.
A Global Network: The EST is your chance to work closely with an international team of Ambassadors, writers, researchers, editors and creatives from both European and non-European countries, and to form connections based on your common interests.
Skills: Volunteering for the EST will shape and develop a variety of skills, from your ability to communicate in a team and organise around differing commitments, to strengthening your understanding of events’ management, the different publications and writing styles through our training workshops.
CV and Recommendation Letter: The EST will look great to an employer, demonstrating a passionate interest in shaping policy and the world around it, and a sustained understanding of international and European affairs! We are more than happy to provide a recommendation letter for our contributors once they finish their terms with us.

Applications for Vice-Presidency for 2025-2026 OPEN
Are you a firm believer that young people should spearhead the European project? Do you have previous experience managing international teams and projects? Do you consider yourself to be a team player and a problem-solver? Do you have the capacity to speak in public and interact with stakeholders at the continental level? Then you should apply to be one of our next Vice Presidents!
The EST is currently seeking two Vice Presidents, with distinct but complementary portfolios:
- Vice President for Partnerships
- Vice President for Events
These roles require a commitment of approximately 8-10 hours per week and will last until July 31st 2026.
Responsibilities of both positions
- Support the President to ensure smooth internal communications and functioning of the Board
- Represent the EST both internally and externally
- Establish a vision and strategy for the duration of your term at the EST, in cooperation with the President
- Attend Board Meetings and take part in decisions relevant to the organisation
- Chair Board Meetings on behalf of the President if necessary
- Support the President with all bureaucracy and administrative tasks related to the organisation
Vice President for Partnerships
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the partnership strategy
- Lead the team of Partnership and Fundraising officers who will help you implement the strategy, along with the contributions from the Treasurer & Fundraising Head.
- Establish collaborations with other organisations, institutions, and networks
- Act as the main contact for inquiries from external organisations and individuals
- Coordinate partnership proposals from internal members and external contacts
Requirements
- Previous leadership experience either in projects and/or other networks or organisations that you have been part of
- Ability to work in a multicultural team and understanding of human relations
- Strong organisational and coordination skills and capacity to manage time effectively
- Great proactivity and creativity with problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure or with short deadlines
- Public speaking skills and fluency in English (C1 level)
- Flexible schedule to organise meetings with potential partners often
- A good understanding of the European NGO field
- Experience in establishing partnerships is considered an asset
- Have a vision for the EST and the future partnerships
Vice President for Events
Responsibilities
- Establish guidelines for approval or rejection of events organised by members
- Oversee, provide feedback and approve events by members to ensure alignment with the strategy, EST’s values and avoid overlaps
- Coordinate one of the our flagship project, the EST Academy, leading the members who will join the EST Academy Task Force
- Provide trainings to EST members on how to organise events
Requirements
- Previous leadership experience either in projects and/or other networks or organisations that you have been part of
- Ability to work in a multicultural team and understanding of human relations
- Strong organisational and coordination skills and capacity to manage time effectively
- Great proactivity and creativity with problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure or with short deadlines

- Previous experience in organising online interactive events/activities
- A good understanding of a wide range of topics related to European Affairs
- Have a vision for the EST

The Call for Applications will be open until 29th of June (23:59 CEST). Applications will be screened on a rolling basis, so you can be contacted for an interview in July. If we find suitable candidates before the deadline, the EST reserves the right to close the call earlier.
Expected start date is August 2025. However, you might be requested to engage in other preparatory tasks during the last 2 weeks of July to ensure a smooth start of your term.
