Carmen Murgu

Carmen is originally from Romania and obtained her Bachelor Degree in Security Studies in 2019 at the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She is currently pursuing a Master degree in European Studies at the Europa-Universitat in Flensburg, Germany. Her main interests are in European affairs with an emphasis on EU’s foreign policy in different areas of the world, such as Latin American Countries or the Eastern Neighborhood.

Her decision to enroll in one of the German universities came after she had done one Erasmus semester in Regensburg, in the south of Germany. From that point on, she decided to pursue German and Spanish language courses.

One of her extracurricular activities is her membership in a German non-profit association called Munich European Forum. The main goal of it is to organize an annual, one-week-long conference in Brussels simulating the 5 different committees; one of them being the Foreign Affairs Council of the EU chaired by Carmen since 2018. Also, she is the Romanian Youth Delegate for the Council of Europe Congress sessions. Her mandate will end this October.

Her main hobbies are foreign languages, travelling, taking photographs while travelling, and meeting new people from different cultures.
