Saturday 16 April Student Forum Maastricht hosted a meeting of partners in Brussels. The European Student Thinktank was represented by Kate Perdikis and Sietse Blom. At the Maastricht University Campus various young initiatives were offered the opportunity to speak on how they contribute to a better Europe. As a think tank we attempt to do this by ‘bridging the gap between students and Brussels’, our mission. We spoke about the platform we offer students for their work to be read and discussed by others, on social media, our website or in our academic journal, the European Policy Review. Through our diverse content we distinguish ourselves from other youth organizations, varying from blogs to Q&A’s with Members of the European Parliament to academic master pieces. Which is strengthened by our cooperations with partners, representation in the member states through our Ambassadors and the diverse events we host. We reach a broad scale of people this way.
Many of our partners were present too. Besides the hosting organization Student Forum Maastricht, our partners Politix.eu, Campus Europe and the Young European Federalists were there. They also vividly introduced their initiatives and work to the students. The group of students was present at the Maastricht University Campus for a 5 day conference to work towards policy recommendations for the European Commission. We were very impressed by their results, which you can check at the SFM Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/student.forum.maastricht/?fref=ts
